Tia Denby, ENG’21

“There are two eras in every person’s life: before they met Tia and after. Tia is the perfect storm of concentrated energy that can’t help but rub off on you. She is always the loudest on Locust because she is so proud of the work she and the others in TAC-e are able to accomplish. On Front Row Board, Tia has played a vital part in keeping the group connected, fun, and just a better place all around. Without Tia, theatre at Penn would lose its spark and charisma. I’ve had the privilege to work with Tia throughout my four years at Penn, but what sets her apart is how passionate she is. She truly cares for how the arts affect people, both in the audience and in the creation process. She constantly has challenged TAC-e and Front Row Theatre Company to do and be better and more inclusive, and that impact is only just starting to be felt by the underclassmen that benefitting from everything she valiantly fought for. Tia, the Queen of Tea, your legacy will continue to reign unmatched.”
